Norwegian writer Erik Fosnes Hansen wrote a novel about a Lion Woman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erik_Fosnes_Hansen appearently she went through some trouble due to her hairy presence, but that might have been different if we all had had the same amount of hair as her.
