Day 4 of 21 Days

Georgia kept moving so I had to keep starting over --- used sumi ink and a nib.

Day 3 of 21 Days

Sketches of my greyhound, Georgia, done with black sumi ink and a cheapo chopstick (used as a drawing tool) that one gets from the japanese restaurants (you know the kind that splinters when you break them in half). I'd like to say these are blind contours but, alas, I did sneak looks at my paper.

Days 1 & 2 of 21 Days

Blind contour drawing that I then went back to fill in some details (like her brindle markings) done with a conte crayon.

Blind contour drawings of my dog, Georgia, done with a woodless pencil.

I'm participating in a challenge that I read on Alicia Padron's blog. As I am rather lazy when it comes to posting this will be the ultimate challenge for me.

My L'il Helper

Well, Georgia really isn't that much of a helper when it comes to working, but she knows how to lounge! This is the "ya woke me up from my day long nap" look.

Illustration Friday: Wrinkles

It wasn't so much the wrinkles that bothered Henry; it was the bifocals that made him feel old.

Illustration Friday: Primitive

Monkey thought using ones hands to swat at mosquitos was a bit primitive.

I kinda cheated here as I just finished this illo for a job...

Illustration Friday: Fail

Always a good student, Sophie failed to thrive at her new school.

Sometimes I think the biggest bully we have is the one from within....

Lazy

I've been so lazy when it comes to my blog and participating in Illustration Friday. I haven't been feeling very inspired lately --- a problem I tend to have. So this illo is for a job I did recently for a "tween" magazine. I illustrate the Q & A for their health and beauty section. It is pretty fun as the topics are funny (looking back into the rear view mirror of puberty I can say that) and I can be a bit wacky. And as usual, I try to throw animals in the mix. This Q & A is about shaving and how the girls legs still look splotchy as the roots underneath the skin are still visible...Isn't growing up fun. :)
